I'm not 100% certain who the owner of NWM is either at this time. At one point it was us, but I'm pretty sure it's changed hands since 2009-10. I'll ask around the office when I get a chance to drop by later this month.
The forum server-side email and time management is wonky and I don't have access to the php anymore, so, yeah we'll find out who owns it and if they want to go ahead and take charge of it and give it a breath of fresh air.
I've actually had a persisting notice for all users under the "awaiting email confirmation" that reads "If you've registered and haven't received an email confirmation yet, contact any mod/admin (ie: Daniel_Patten) to have your account activated for forum posting." So I'm assuming most of the 2500 were either bots or didn't notice/read the notice.
