Plus in the right situation, you can just keep dropping and bouncing the karoo for lynx/geopede/kudzu interaction.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. You always have a land drop, or in a pinch can set up a re-use of Sejiri Steppe.

I think a bounceland fills the necessary 2nd-steppe slot, while also interacting positively with the rest of the deck. The thing that worries me now is the Flagstones count and the Mountain count. Somebody in my CFB comments mentioned going over 60 cards. I'm a big proponent of 60 cards, but if the land slots are that important it might be worth it. If the deck went up +2 lands, then it would need what, +3 spells to keep the land ratio correct? Or +4 might be a better land ratio, but it's a worse steppe lynx ratio. That's the ratio that really concerns me, which is why I really doubt I'll be going over 60 cards.
For now I'm going to test a Selesnya Sanctuary over Vesuva while keeping an eye on how often I need more Flagstones or Mountains. Stirring Wildwood might have to be sacrificed for one of those.

You might want to consider Skarrg, the Rage Pits. It invalidates chumping, which seemed to be a major problem in your report; it pumps; it's tutorable with knight and scapeshift; and it does these things turn after turn, rather than just once. With a big enough knight, you might actually be able to restrict Foundry + Sword to a few life per turn until you can draw some artifact hate.
Plus, nobody will see it coming.

Keep in mind, you could still theoretically play Vesuva, it would just require a little more care when scapeshifting. It will likely still be a Mountain when you need it to be because what's the likeliness that you are still going to have a Mountain in play when you cast Scapeshift? Are you really going to need to do 18? Or will you be able to leave a Mountain in play? That one is not where I think you should be worried. The problem would be when you are fetching multiple Flagstones and need another, or when you need two Sejiri Steppes off the same Scapeshift. No idea if all that matters.

Skaarg also taps for colorless.

Oh man, Kellen Abel loves Scarg. I should actually try it. I'm not sure if the manabase has room, as it's already tight, but maybe it's better than a manland? Hmm...
Sure, I could still run Vesuva, but it can't do what i was using it to do most of the time. It can't be both a 4th flagstones and a 2nd sejiri steppe off of Scapeshift. Sure I can still make it a mountain for valakut, or still kill dark depths, but its two primary functions are now defunct, so it isn't really worth it. I rarely need to valakut for 18 and almost always have to leave mountains in play. However, I felt like 8 mountains was exactly the minimum, but now the deck is at 7 minus vesuva. Maybe 7 can still work, but it's much less scary especially when you can't double valakut. Requires more testing.
